> welcome, worldwalkers!
There is something you want. Perhaps it's something grand: to see someone who's long gone, vengeance, your life back. Perhaps it's something smaller: to win a tournament, your next meal, a discount on cat litter. It's that desire, as loud or quiet as it may be, that whisks you away into darkness. One single word greets you:
Duocaeli is a fantasy/adventure private panfandom game that situates itself between two worlds: one online fantasy, and the other modern day city. As Worldwalkers, characters will get to experience the best and worst of both worlds as they chase after something want, a wish that's promised to them after they've honed their skills. Yet as they progress through their journey they will be able to witness how the choices they make affect their environment—and perhaps how the setting may change them in turn.
For some characters that come into Duocaeli, the beautiful starting city, Avis Isle, might ring truer to home with its mystical tomes and boisterous guilds. For others, it might be Crane City with its modern amenities like electricity, high-speed transit systems, and you know, indoor plumbing that feels familiar. Regardless, characters must learn to walk between both worlds, whether that means fumbling around with a giant axe or learning how to work the self-checkout at the grocery store. Crane City insists that it is the location rooted in reality, but why is it that with every passing day, Duocaeli seems less like fun and games and more like a robust world of its own? Monthly events will invite characters on adventures where they’re often faced with making key decisions, and will have to watch those choices shape the worlds around them. Who knew reality was so malleable, huh?
As a game, Duocaeli strives to strike the balance between lighthearted slice-of-life and more serious adventuring, with opportunities for horror and other moments of gravitas. Some of the mechanics will allow players to engage with customizable magic, temporary AUs, and deepening character relationships. The game will borrow from a number of inspirations, including MMORPGs, mobile games, and different mythological and fantasy sources. Over time, we hope to expand the game setting mechanics in additional patches! ;) We look forward to seeing you there!

the country sylvain (and dimitri and felix) is from is like... very old school monarchy, all about chivalry and sacrifice and knightly honor etc. it's closely tied to the fantasy-catholic church of seiros, and places great importance on the noble houses because of the "crests" they carry in their bloodlines (religious connotations, seen as being blessed by the goddess)...
these crests give inheritors the ability to wield relics (weapons) that have super OP combat powers, and some bloodlines have other latent abilities too (dimitri is super stronk in canon! but this is more rare as the bloodlines have been watered down by history so to speak). the crests aren't always inherited by a child, e.g. it's not uncommon for a family to have multiple children in the hopes that one of them will inherit the crest. and a lot of social value is placed on the child who does, and they're expected to marry and procreate to continue the bloodline...
SO THERE ARE... ONE OR TWO PARALLELS TO NARDO YEAH... me laughing nervously as i realize this while typing up above infodump... 🤡 SO I FEEL LIKE THEY'RE COMING FROM OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE SAME SOCIETAL ISSUE, which i think would be really interesting to explore...

(but yes, please. sakura is becoming a lot more aware of social issues as they stand in her world, thus why she ended up starting her clinic in one of the novels, but like. she's still got that fucked up ninja mentality of upbringing bc even tho kishi stresses she's the 'normal one' it's like. buddy. children being in life or death situations and trained to kill people and deal with seeing your comrades die is STILL NOT NORMAL!!! she is not a normal girl!!! stop!!
womp womp manga sexism womp)

LMAO GOD... THE CLASSIC SHOUNEN MANGA SEXISM... I'm so sorry you have to put up with it!! Different genre but fe3h can be extremely tonedeaf in areas too, it feels inescapable sometimes... orz
and yeah kishimoto really did all that to his characters and then was like "lol don't worry about it" 🙃 but u kno what that's what rp is for!! U CAN FIX THINGS!!! U CAN MAKE THEM BETTER...
