Well well well, what do we have here? It seems like Avisle has become something of a new fancy tourist destination for some visiting royalty. Countless airships come and go each day, bringing with them an assortment of… princesses? Oh! It seems like some grand miss in a faraway land is hosting a slumber party, and Avisle is a lovely resting destination for those making the journey.

What kind of hustle and bustle will that bring to the area? Look forward to more details tomorrow! For now, know that the event domain will involve escorting a young princess.

Meet Princess Andalina Quartzrosen Pili Majesteria the Third. In the final installment of the Event Domain, characters must decide whether she will live or die.

Andalina is a young girl of 17 years old, the sole member of a ruling family presiding over the small kingdom of Majesteria (population: 550). Over the course of her life, her family has fallen ill to the harsh climate of her country, and passed away one by one, leaving only her. Even so, she is the pride and joy of her lands, beloved by her people as she endeavors to make public works. Improving their lives is her greatest priority. While lonely, she works hard and truly believes in the future of her people. She is set to be named Queen next month on her 18th birthday.

However, Andalina is not without blood on her hands. Last year, she waged war on a neighboring kingdom to gain access to their resources and some very bountiful mines. She was victorious… if one could truly call it that. Her directions were ruthless, leading to a massacre of the enemy and devastation to their population, killing over half of their citizens, including women and children. In a final act of spite, the fallen kingdom detonated all of their mine shafts, leaving only rubble. So you might ask: what did she truly win?

Her life is in the hands of those who enter the Domain. Will you protect this monarch-to-be, keeping the hope of her kingdom alive? Or will you get revenge against this despot, preventing her from causing further atrocities?

The Choice is Yours.

Players must submit their Choice to this toplevel by Friday, March 17th at 3 PM PST/6 PM EST. For a Choice to count for IC consequences and rewards, players must submit a thread of at least 3 comments interacting with the Event Domain.

OFF WORLD: WHITE DAY DATE AUCTION

Haha wow, anyway, White Day is coming! The fluffy princess energy carries over in the OFF world as Crane City truly loves the holiday, given the pure and snow white featherings of its namesake. Dodo, like the rest of the citizens of this lovely little town, is ready to get into the spirit!

Which brings us to the inaugural Dodo’s Doki Doki Date Auction! Kyaaa. ♥ Residents of Dodo will all be invited and heavily encouraged to attend the event (see: you will not be able to leave! talk about house arrest!) and pursue their doki doki dreams. In order to help make this event a success, please help us crowdsource blurbs for all date candidates! (Blurb submissions go live Monday, February 27th.) Players may also sign up their characters for randomized date pairings, just for fun.

We ask all players to only pick one character to sign up for the Date Auction. For players who have more than one, we ask that you specify at this Opt Out Top-Level which of your characters you’d like for us to keep. If you don’t specify, we will pick at random for you! Plans: His decision as regards the royal will depend on the specifics of what goes down in the escort mission. He'll have his opinions and tentatively lean toward protection, but will be open to discussion.

As for the date auction, he'll just go with the flow and be cordial if anyone wants to hang out.

Outside of that, he's been training and practicing magic on the side, and also experiencing the wonders of salted food as much as his diminished appetite has allowed. He arrived malnourished and looks better now than he did then. Roland is active in both the ON and OFF worlds, because he thinks it's better to gain experience in lieu of spiraling alone in his room. Sometimes he can be seen interacting with NPCs with a cheerful mien that's nothing like his mild disposition around PCs and more like his AU persona.

Plans: Oh boy. For the choice, Brakka leans kill, though only after the escort mission is completed. Cuz it's important to do a job right, but someone who acts that ruthlessly and has nothing left will absolutely do it again (source: himself) so it's in the best interest of everyone. That being said! He's not impossible to convince to spare just on the merit of being hired as an escort to begin with, but depending on who he's discussing this with he might dig in his heels more. He will absolutely be happy to do the kill also, nbd his hands are already dirty.

...the only way brakka is attending the date auction is by completely misunderstanding the concept, surely it is an auction about specific dates as in time period, not in the romantic sense!?!? once he's actually there though he will very begrudgingly exist, though he's also happy to bet on someone else if it looks like they're scared/don't want to be there and then have a not!date with them.

he expects no one to bid on him, so someone should, it will be great.

BLOOD GOD: Zagreus will try to ask what the people wants. He's a god of blood, which on the one hand, carnage, but on the other hand, life, so he's going to be very divided here. He feels it's not up to them to decide willy-nilly, the Princess should be trialed fairly. Even Hades had 3 judges to decide where you'd go, please.

(That said, I'm rolling with it; I hope you guys don't mind Zag questioning your character's beliefs or reasoning just for the sake that he's very curious. Obvs let me know if you wish to opt out of this.)

WHITE DAY: He's going to take everything in stride! Need a rescuer? Need an actually fun and wholesome and respectful date in the middle of terrible ones? Would you like to bid on a very roguishly handsome twunk? He's bringing gifts, of course. It's his love language (it may be boozy chocolate).

Boons and Keepsakes: Zagreus has this capability, and I'm slowly incorporating it into the magic. Feel free to gift Zag a boon, or maybe give him a trinket that displays certain buffs (and signifies him climbing up your affinity gauge). They won't be setting-breaking, just fun little things.

Choice - Split down the middle! Syo is "on probation", thinks killing girls is boring and gross, and doesn't care about anyone in the online world, so she'll leave it up to her partner. Fukawa would struggle with this, as she doesn't condone murder but also knows firsthand what a bloodthirsty person in power can do. Plus like, she's not real. Isn't this an elaborate VR game? She may lean towards kill because of that, but will pull her partner aside for a whispered discussion on what should be done.

I'm also game to mess around with whatever party shenanigans are being implied with this event! Syo will be enthusiastic and madcap and off-putting, Fukawa will growl and skulk in corners.

White Day - Fukawa is up for Date auction, which is her worst nightmare realized. Being judged on attractiveness??? The certain humiliation of not getting one bid? Romantic pressure? People looking at her? One on one time? With STRANGERS???

She's going to make a break for it. When that fails, she's going to be looking for closests and crevices to hide in. Maybe you're trying to find the toilet bowl cleaner or grab a bag of shrimp crackers and find a whole girl stuffed into the cupboard. High chance she might cry once she's actually up for auction and wail about being promised to her precious Byakuya-sama, who is not here 😬 awkward. Please show mercy.

As for the date she'll likely be glum and suspicious, unless we've got strong positive CR already. Even then she'll likely lament that it's not a real date and be a dang debbie downer. Help cheer her up? Strongarm her into fun and bonding? Or join in the misery and bitter bitches together! Let's go to one of those room-wrecking events and break dishes and scream! I'm here for anything.

There's also general stuff around town online and off. She's in the Scholar's Guild and will be studying dark magic, badly. It's not her genre, help, she hates it here. Questing is available, Fukawa will probably need a big strong someone, or we can be two noodles trying their best! If you're also feeble Syo is a not-so-big strong one! Delighted by the promise of violence and ready to rumble! Be warned though, she's crass, annoying, and unsavory, and more than a little unhinged.

In town, she's up for exploring the city and will be forced to shop, dreadful. Fukawa will be drawn to anything with the arts but first and foremost, books! Syo is just thrilled to be walking around in daylight, she wants to try all the fun shit she's missed out on being a killer slinking through the shadows. Additionally AU Syo is somehow working in organized crime. Plans: Denji is but a simple lad: this cute girl must be protected. All that other stuff happened to other people, and he'll overlook the various warcrimes for the pretty face and sad story. Since the quest is to protect, he'll protect. Those bigger moral questions don't matter as much to him as immediate need, and so long as the princess wasn't trying to hurt or kill him or those he cares about, he's not going to murder in cold blood and will fight to defend her if someone was trying to kill her for "no good reason". (In fact, Denji's pretty heavily adverse to killing non-combatant humans in general....ironically to the moral question at-hand I suppose)

Aside from that, in the ON world Denji will probably spend his first month grinding out super menial tasks and farming tons of sellable resources--the kinda tutorial stuff that most players do once then go on to more exciting story bits. He stays in the starting city collecting in-game currency until someone tells him he can leave and do other things.

Denji loves a good date! He is practically a date expert at this point having gone on...well at least 2 or 3. He might think that he gets the money for what people bid on him. He will also think that the dates are Serious unless explicitly told otherwise.

Looking for:
ON
- Someone to teach him magic is Real and he can do it (his element is fire) because he did not get to that tutorial quest yet
- Warrior guild buds! He's all about tearing into some mobs of monsters so if you want a DPS/tank just point him at some combat
- Players who need materials/resources/monster parts to fulfill a quest or craft an item, etc...! He'll have so many of everything available around the starting area and probably some rare drops just because of how much grinding he's doing. Plans: Hibiki is not a fan of the princess, believing that murder is never Okay, and with little to go on as to why she would need those supplies... She will waffle on this, but will inevitably choose to protect the princess, if only to have her tried for what she's done to the neighboring kingdom. There's no right answer here, but she believes the princess should have to live with the consequences of her actions. Or be put to death for them. Either way, she won't have that blood on her hands.

In OFF land, Hibiki is getting signed up for auction by a very well-meaning family member and she is going to cringe out of her skin over the whole thing. Even more so if any of her students see her (hint hint). One would think that her being uncomfortable with the whole thing means that she will be a shrinking violet in this situation, but it will have the exact opposite effect. If anything, this might trigger some of her competitive streak, so she will be doing what she can to get the bid as high as possible, even if she has no intention of going on a serious date. Who wants this musically-inclined bachelorette? Please save her.

My first plan is to finish my toplevel tonight. Other than that I'm pretty open but the general ideas right now are:

ON: Izuku is inclined to protect the princess because that's just who he is as a person. He would like to ideally find some solution that involves maybe blocking off future atrocities, but he's not inclined to murder in cold blood. I'd like to find people to do quests with or to train in element stuff with? Izuku is going to be pretty enthusiastic about the game in general both as a way to get to the wish goal and also because he's just honestly a giant nerd and will find it fun. However he does suffer from Cannot Be Mean To NPCs syndrome so expect his choices to reflect that. Also he's earth element in the Crafters guild!

OFF: He will be working part time jobs and worrying about school. Do his grades matter if this isn't his real life? Izuku is leaning towards "yes" just in case. I'll also let him be signed up for the date thing so he can friend date whomever! I'm looking for AU connections still but will be playing things pretty loose as I find my footing.
